The strand has a straight central wire, called a core or King wire around which six wires are spun in one layer. The outer wires are tightly spun around the central wire with a lay length between 14 and 18 times the nominal strand diameter. The diameter of the central wire shall be at least 3.0% greater than the diameter of the outer helical wires. Manufactured and supplied in acordance with Pr EN 10138-3:2005 or ASTM A416/A416M-0 6 as required.
